Claudia has been freelancing as an editor and writer for more than 10 years. Prior to going freelance, she worked as an editor in community journalism. In 1997, while working at a community newspaper, Claudia won a first place award in the feature/personality category for Crying to Be Heard, a story about an environmental activist.

As a freelance writer, Claudia’s work has appeared in Utne Reader, the Chicago Tribune, Conscious Choice and other publications.

For 7 years, Claudia served as the freelance editor for a Lake County, Illinois regional parenting magazine, Family Time. Claudia enjoys keeping up-to-date on parenting issues and providing ideas and support for parents.

Besides writing about parenting issues, Claudia also likes to write about the environment, sustainability, and gardening.

Claudia also sells collectible books, vintage advertising and prints online. She is an Ebay Powerseller with a special interest in antique illustrated books and children's books.
